Classic Car Insurance Coverage Details

Our team at Chubb shares your enthusiasm for classic cars. For almost a century, we’ve insured many of the world’s most unique vehicles, delivering outstanding protection and service.
What types of cars are eligible for classic car insurance?

Chubb’s classic car insurance typically covers vehicles that are at least 30 years old, part of a larger vehicle collection, or a limited production model. Vehicles must also be garaged and used for hobby purposes only, which could include for car shows, exhibitions, car club activities, and parades.

You won't hear "good enough"

We’ll always cover your choice of repair shop or connect you to our network of top experts – even if that means sending your classic car out of state or overseas for necessary repairs. And we’ll never ask you to sacrifice on quality. We insist on repairing your car with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts, or we’ll pay for fabricated parts if the originals aren’t available.

You'll have the freedom to drive

We never put a mileage limit on hobby use, so you can enjoy your classic car without checking the odometer. You also don’t need authorization from us before participating in non-competitive rallies or tours.

We'll do what's right for you

If your car has suffered a total loss, you have the option of keeping the damaged vehicle and parts. We’ll pay the Agreed Value less the salvage value of the damaged car.

Getting you back on the road is our priority

In 98% of all claims, Chubb Claims Adjusters make contact within 24 hours or less of the initial report. They have the authority to pay claims but can’t deny a claim without a manager’s approval.

Your Chubb team will understand your needs

We know how important your time on the road is, so we work hard to make it easy for you. We can combine all your Chubb policies onto a single bill, and we’ll automatically cover any new classic vehicle purchases for the first 90 days.

We're there to get you home safely

If you’re in an accident, we’ll pay to move your car, using the transport of your choice, to any repair shop of your choice. With our optional roadside assistance coverage, if you have a mechanical breakdown, we cover fuel and fluids, battery recharge, flat tire repair, and more. If we can’t get your car back on the road, we’ll pay the cost of towing for up to 200 miles.
